My female friend just asked what RCR meant, what episode should I show her in hopes of converting her to the dark side? I was thinking RX-7, or maybe just RCR goes to Cars and Coffee.

Original Miata review is always a classic. It really helps you to understand not only the premise of RCR (which is more of understanding car culture than cars themselves) but really why people like about cars and why they enjoy them as more than appliances.

Second this. This was when RCR was fresh and new and didn’t have all the inside jokes and obscure literary references. Of course, you have to tailor the experience to your audience. My sister drives an Odyssey with her two boys, and so I had to show the Odyssey review to her, with my brother in law nodding and chortling behind her the whole time.

The one that always sticks out in my mind is the one of the Celica GT-S (the ‘00s generation). I think it’s a good summation of what RCR is about, not so sure about car culture... but I find this one of RCRs really compelling videos.

I have a friend who watches rcr too we often quote that line or the honda accord. Everytime I see a honda accord I say it in mr. regulars voice and assume the male owner likes to wear his wife’s clothes.

It’s a car. It does car things well. But I have the large 3.6 V6 model, so that’s a 252 HP motor which is fairly spunky, but the steering is lifeless, and the shiftable auto is nearly useless at sub-highway speeds.

Yeah, well shiftable autos are just a bad idea from the outset, IMO. But enjoy it for what it is. Probably a good road trip machine.

Oh, I take it back. Not cool at all. I learned the value of money from my parents and had to pay for my own non-necessities, but there is such a thing as taking the lesson too far. It's not for me to judge your parents, but I'd bristle at a mileage charge too.
